Donna Lou Kern, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, in her home. Per Donna's request, there will be no services. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Rick (Joni) Kern of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Sheri (Brad) Fenton of Cedar Rapids; and grandson, Dan Kern of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlo; son, Randi; sister, Darlene; and brother, Marvin.
Donna was born Jan. 4, 1935, in Grandview, Iowa, daughter of William and Emma (Boulton) Walsinger. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1952. On Nov. 27, 1952, she married Arlo Kern in Washington, Iowa. He later died on Sept. 9, 2013. Donna was employed at Square D and American Greetings.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who loved her dearly.
