Donna Jean (Shada) Yanda, 81, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away Monday morning November 18, 2024, following a long illness.
Per Donna’s wishes there will be no funeral. Burial will be at Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery where she will be inurned next to her husband, Gary.
Donna was born July 29, 1943, to Gabe and Doris (Nelson) Shada. Donna was a Jefferson High School 1961 alumni and later graduated from Paris Cosmetology School.
Donna married Gary Yanda September 15, 1962. She then moved to Anchorage Alaska joining Gary where he was serving in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. She worked for FMC, Crest Microfilm and the City of Cedar Rapids as a license clerk and civil service clerk.
Donna devoted herself to the role of grandma and GiGi. She enjoyed gardening, music, cooking and entertaining friends. Donna was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include two daughters. Monica (Yanda) (Dale) Frank, Cedar Rapids. Melissa Yanda and (Kip Seymour), Dennis, MA. Also surviving are grandson Dylan Gremm and great grandson Liam Gremm.
Donna is preceded in death by her husband Gary, her parents, in-laws John and Libby Yanda, and Uncle Bud.
