Donna J. Jensen, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids while under hospice care. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden, with Pastor Susan Schneider-Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3
to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Donna was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Davenport, Iowa, to Henry and Eleanor Lembke Siemsen. She was married to Jerold Jensen on Nov. 26, 1955. He passed away on Feb. 1, 2014.
Donna is survived by her sons, Michael (Pamela) of Lowden, Bruce (Teresa) of Lowden and Thomas (Jennifer) of Clarence; grandchildren, Janine (Todd) Fadale, Chasity (Matt) Horstmann, Kate (Craig) Darcy, Kelli (Colin) Stuhr, Allison (Austin Young) Jensen, Jacob (Sydney Lamont) Jensen, Caitlin Jensen, Conner Jensen and Caylee Jensen; seven step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerold: son, Jeffrey; stepgrandson, Dustin Gardner; and two sisters and two brothers.
Donna was a big Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. She was known for being the "ice cream lady" at the Clarence-Lowden school cafeteria and loved to socialize at Ditto's over pie and coffee. She also enjoyed traveling with Jerold over the years.
Memorials may be directed to the Dixon Cemetery or Zion United Church of Christ.
