Donna Foley, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died suddenly March 22, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Donna is survived by her children, Brett (Cheryl) Foley of Springville, Bruce Foley of Des Moines, Julie Hebert of Marion, Cathy (Mike) Ahrens of Bettendorf and Lori McClure of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; sister, Judy (Ted) Malget of Oelwein; two brothers, Greg (Jolene) Doll of Altoona and Bill Doll of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents; brother, Jack Doll; and sister, Diane Swatek.
Donna Jean was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Prairie du Chein, Wis., the daughter of Lawrence and Eileen Price Doll. She married Dick R. Foley on Feb. 11, 1961, in Wauzeka, Wis. Dick died in 2010. She was an office manager for The Meth-Wick Manor for 15 years, retiring in 2013.
Donna was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with and catering to her beloved grandchildren. She always gained great satisfaction from giving of herself, whether through her strong devotion to family, friends or the people she served in other aspects of her life.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
