DONNA ETSCHEIDT

Donna Mae Etscheidt, 86, of Watkins, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watkins, with Father Craig Steimel as celebrant.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday also at the church. Interment will be at St.
Patrick and St. Paul Catholic Cemetery near Watkins. Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown is in charge of arrangements.
Donna was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Cedar Rapids to Cecil Lester and Evelyn Dorothy Schultz Mefford. She attended Van Buren and Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids.
She was united in marriage to Cyril Etscheidt on Dec. 26, 1946, in Cedar
Rapids.
Donna was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watkins, where she served as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. In her leisure, Donna enjoyed cooking and doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband, Cyril, Donna is survived by one son, Kurt (Helga) Etscheidt of
Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin; two brothers, LaVerne and Marvin Mefford; and one sister, Alberta Henecke.
