Donna Kay Dwyer, 86, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 4, 2016, in East Lyme, Conn., after a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Brian Reeves. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday after noon at Teahen Funeral Home.
Donna was born March 31, 1930, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Marian Parker Warnock. She was married to James Dwyer, who passed away Nov. 21, 2005. Donna worked at The Gazette as a shortage driver for many years.
Donna is survived by three daughters, Tamara (Bill) Lontz of Hayward, Wis., Michele (Lyle) Ehrenberger of Cedar Rapids and Mary (David) am Ende of East Lyme, Conn.; three sons, Miles Chaplin of Cedar Rapids, Kevin (April) Dwyer of Cedar Rapids and Jaime Dwyer of Stone Lake, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Ben, Travis, Tyler, Sierra, Joel, Nathan, Noah and Brianna; five great-grandchildren, Naomi, Aidan, Makayla, Cadence and Olivia; sister, Nancy (Duane) Miller of Storm Lake; and brother, Tracy Warnock of Ankeny.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her brother, Michael; and her parents, Marian and Oliver.
Donna loved enjoying time with family and friends, feeding and watching birds, cooking and vacationing at Pine Grove Lodge in northern Minnesota. She had an outgoing personality and enjoyed life. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
