Donice L. Case, 85, of Marion, formerly of Oskaloosa, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her daughter, Lindel (Mark) Settle of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Josh (Kirsten) Settle and Jake (Kelly) Settle; great-grandsons, Grayson and Bennett; great-granddaughter, Liv; sister, Shirley (Don) Holland; brother-in-law, Floyd (Pat) Case; sister-in-law, Dolores (Al) Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Lana Case.
Donice was born April 24, 1929, in Cherokee, Okla., the daughter of Lanta Jasper and Wilma Ruth (Terry) McIntire. She attended a one-room schoolhouse in grade school, and graduated from Byron High School in Byron, Okla. Donice went on to earn her B.A. in education from William Penn College and her M.A. from Northeast Missouri State. Donice married Harold Wayne Case on Aug. 29, 1948, in Byron, Okla.
Donice was a teacher in the Oskaloosa Public Schools, teaching junior high home economics and math. She was a member of College Avenue Friends Church in Oskaloosa, the Home Ec Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, various bridge clubs and AAUW.
Donice's interests included sewing and crafts, playing bridge, golf and cooking. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
