Donel "Don" Ray Nedrow, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center, following a sudden illness. Private services for Don and Patricia will be held at Teahen Funeral Home.
Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends and family of Don and Patricia may visit from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home. Family requests that those attending the visitation and service wear a mask.
Don is survived by sons, Adam (Monia) of West Virginia and Nickolas (Rebecca) of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Alicia, Ayman and Oakleigh; sister, Linda (Gary) Lankton of Asheville, N.C.; brother, David (Cheryl) Nedrow of Cedar Falls; sister-in-law, Kathy Berger of Anamosa; brother-in-law, Mike (Jeannie) Berger of Kansas City, Kan.; niece, Tiffaney Bieda; nephews, Tony (Ruby) Berger, Jason Lankton, Jeremy and Joshua Nedrow; and 15 cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Patricia, on Aug. 15, 2021; daughter, Alicia; and his parents.
Don was born on June 25, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Raymond and Patricia Kluck Nedrow. He attended Prairie High School. Don married Patricia Ann Berger on May 22, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. Don was a custodian for 35 years at College Community Schools, retiring in 2011. He was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church.
Don enjoyed buying and selling antiques, playing cards and shopping. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren, and will be greatly missed.
Don's family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital for their exceptional care.
