Donald J. Zeman, 91, of the Iowa City area, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at his residence at Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Iowa City, with the Very Reverend Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service.
Memorial donations may be given in Don's memory to the Visiting Nurse Association.

Donald John Zeman was born July 29, 1922, in Solon, Iowa, the son of John and Elsie (Ulch) Zeman. Following graduation from Iowa City University High School he was united in marriage to Darlene Loretta Loney on Jan. 23, 1945, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City.
During World War II, Don served in the United States Marine Corps. Returning to this area, Don and Darlene farmed near Hills until opening Don's Bicycle Shop on Fifth Street in Coralville which they operated as a couple for many years before retiring in 1985. He had also established Don's Honda, originally in Coralville, and more recently on Highway 1 in
Iowa City. He was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City, the Solon American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
His family includes two children, Tom and his wife, Karen Zeman, and Dona MacMillan, all of Iowa City; grandchildren, Bonnie McCarron (Scott), Michael Zeman (Lynne), Jeffrey MacMillan (Amber) and John MacMillan (Karen); and great-grandchildren, Madeline, Mallory and Brianna McCarron, Rachel and Hannah Remer, Daniel, Joshua, and Jacob Zeman, and Zach, Peyton and Ethan MacMillan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene on Dec. 19, 2010; and brothers, Roger and Jim Zeman.
