Donald William Bockenstedt, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Donnie is survived by his sisters, Jean Hood of Cedar Rapids and Joanne Duncalf of Clarion; children, Mick, Steph, Libby, Kevin and Maria; stepchildren, Kari and Roger; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
Donnie was born on Sept. 18, 1942, in Dyersville, the son of Fred and Adelle Krogman Bockenstedt. He graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1961. Donnie worked as a handyman and over the road truck driver.
Donnie loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a joke teller who had a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, going to swap meets and tractor meets, listening to country music and watching Western movies.
