DONALD JOSEPH VAVROCH

Donald Joseph Vavroch, 81, of Belle Plaine, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, to join his son in heaven.
A memorial gathering is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be sent to Don's family at www.hrabak

Donald was born May 23, 1934, to Louis and Anna (Charvat) Vavroch. He graduated from Tama High School in 1953. Following school, he served in the National Guard for six years. On March 5, 1954, Don married Della Vore at St. Patrick's Church in Tama. Don started working at Motor Supply in 1958 and continued through the mergers until his retirement in 2013.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting, but, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Della of 61 years; children, Stanley of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Dave (Janet) of Ankeny, Iowa, Jim (Karla) of Belle Plaine and Lisa Jones of Marion, Iowa; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many more loving family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Douglas.
Don was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
