Donald, Steven Allen
Steven Allen Donald, 60, of Colo and Mission, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at the Story County Medical Center, Nevada. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Colo, with Pastor Lewis S. Flanigan officiating.
Steve was born on June 23, 1950, in Chariton, Iowa, to Ronald J and Velma Marie (Ferrell) Donald. He was a 1968 graduate of Colo High School and a 1988 graduate of ISU. On August 28, 1970, Steve married Connie Campbell in Ames. He retired in 2008 as an inventory analyst at Pearson in Cedar Rapids. Steve enjoyed camping, boating, “putzing” and loved talking to people. Always a giver in his life, he was an organ, tissue and eye donor at his death.
Steve is survived by his wife, Connie Donald of Colo and wintering in Mission, Texas; a son, Todd (Laurie) Donald of Van Horne; a daughter, Shannon (Eric) Stockland of Frankfort, Ill; four grandchildren, Kaylin and Kennedy Donald and Sydney and Campbell Stockland; and two brothers, Ron (Sally) Donald of Van Horne, and Gary (Theresa) Donald of Huntsville, Ala.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bill Donald.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, 602 Fourth St., Colo.
A memorial fund has been established in Steve's name.
Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Steve and his family.
