Donald Ray Coonrod “Coony”, 59, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Springville Cemetery. Reception at Sally’s On Broadway in Springville to follow.
Coony was born on May 21, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Donald and Barbara (Soukup) Coonrod. He was a 1982 graduate of Springville High School. He had a passion for farming and mechanics. He also had two grandchildren that were his pride and joy. Coony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Coony is survived and lovingly remembered by his son, Drake (Cheyenne) Coonrod; wife, Shelly Rabik; grandchildren, Stetson and Everleigh; mother, Barb Coonrod; and brother, Mike (Jan) Coonrod.
He was preceded in death by his father.
