Donald R. Wadsworth, 81, of Princeton and formerly of Clarence, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 27, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Carol Mart officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Clarence Cemetery.
Don was born on March 17, 1941, in Springville, Iowa, to Vernon and Florence (Fox) Wadsworth. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Schley, on Aug. 13, 1960 at the Viola Methodist Church. They welcomed their two children with pride and joy in 1964 and 1967.
Don is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter Teresa (Jon) Biles of Princeton; son Tim Wadsworth of Lowden; grandchildren Jaydon Biles, Shayla Wadsworth & Payton Wadsworth; sister Lois Hart of Viola, Iowa; and brother Kenneth (Mary) of Cypress, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary Gaines and Margery Gaines; and brother Bill Wadsworth.
Don was a hog buyer all his life for various companies in Clarence and was a part time carpenter. He loved his family, fishing, and showing off his cars at car shows. Don was a gifted story teller, and his wit, kind heart and infectious humor along with his easy going nature led to many strong friendships.
