Donald Leo Ellison Jr., 79, of Wyoming, died Monday, July 23, 2018, at home.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, Iowa, where the family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. to the time of service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa.

Donald was born Dec. 5, 1938, in Mechanicsville, Iowa, the son of Donald Leo Sr. and Althea (Capron) Ellison. He graduated from Martelle High School. On Feb. 14, 1959, he married Shyrl Louise Ricklefs at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. He worked in farming after the couple married and later went to work at the Krobs Elevator in Ely, Iowa. He then took a job at the Vigortone Feed Co., Cedar Rapids, working there for 20 years. He retired in 2005. During retirement he also drove for Lou Sommerville Trucking.
Don enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading (especially Westerns) and working jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shyrl; his children, Cindy (Doug) Wiltsey, Wyoming, Danny Ellison, Louisville, Ky., and Teresa (Joe) Tandle, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick (Renee), Monticello, Harold, Anamosa, and Dennis (Sonya), Anamosa; sisters, Darlene (Larry) Farrington, Anamosa, Diane (Marvin) Aldrich, Cedar Rapids, and Debbie (Mike) Faber, Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maxine Ellison; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Ellison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed the family.
