He was born Dec. 3, 1932, son of Charles and Mae Hoxworth of Bridgeport, Neb. Don married Mary Anne Holmes on Feb. 17, 1951, in San Diego, Calif.
He served in the Korean War as a naval corpsman and later attended the University of Wyoming. Don graduated as an electrical engineer. Don had a long and distinguished career as a program manager for Rockwell Collins. Next to his loving wife and children, his second love in life was the game of golf.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne; children, son, Darrell (Susan) of Overland Park, Kan., and daughter, Marsha (Rick) Stickle of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mae; one son, Jeffery; and brother, Clifford.
Don was a good Christian man, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He has left us with wonderful memories and we feel blessed to have had him in our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Meth-Wick Woodlands.
