Donald D. Gregory, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, from complications of COPD. In respect of the family's wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Private family burial services will be at a later date.
Donald Dale Gregory was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Mount Auburn, the son of Dale Owen and Mildred Mae Bushnell Gregory. He was united in marriage to Susan Keefer on Sept. 3, 1964. Don retired from John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed a long retirement of pursuing his favorite activities, which included carpentering, traveling, boating and fishing on the Mississippi River at Harpers Ferry and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; two sons, Darrin of Gravois Mills, Mo., and Bruce (Abbi) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Amber (Daniel) Laxton, Alyssa, Maezi and Owen Gregory; one great-grandson, Devon Laxton; two sisters, Karen (Duane) Harp of Mount Auburn and Rosemary (Craig) Hoepner of Vinton; and one brother, Ken (Mary Ann) Gregory of Dysart.
