DONALD GRAHAM
Cedar Rapids
Donald "Don" C. Graham, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully from natural causes Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at West Ridge Care Center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, by the Rev. Chris Podhajsky and the Rev. Mike Graham, SJ. Burial: St. John Cemetery. A vigil service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 until 6:30 p.m. Friends may also visit Saturday at the church after 9:30 a.m.
Don is survived by his children, Michael of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeff of Marion, Steve (Ali) Graham, Laurie (Marty) Valentine and David (Diane) Graham, all of Cedar Rapids, Tammara (Stephen) Michalec of Middle Amana and Philip (Regina) Graham of Cedar Rapids; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Ann, in 2013.
Don was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Chicago, the son of Bruce and Lois Weber Graham. He married Mary Ann Mochal on Aug. 25, 1951, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Don worked as a clothing wholesaler in town for many years, and spent his last working years at Hermann's Clothing.
Don had an avid interest in history, enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved watching Jeopardy. He enjoyed swimming and looked forward to nice weather to be able to enjoy a cigar outdoors. He was a huge Badger and Cardinal fan (you didn't want to be in the house when the game was on!). Don was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and Don's new friends at West Ridge Care Center for their kindness and compassion over the last few months.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
