Donald Leo Finn, of Cedar Rapids, passed away after a battle with leukemia at Mercy Medical Center at 1:12 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the age of 72. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ken Glaser. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home, with visitation from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette "Gail," of 52 years. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Don (Jen) Finn of Cedar Rapids, Shawn (Kim) Finn of Williamsburg, Michael (Melissa) Finn of Atkins, Crystal (Donnie) Santee of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren, Chelsea (Brian) Schultz, Matt Finn, Myles (Haley) Finn, Sarah Mathers, Donnie Ray Santee, Hannah Finn, John Ray Finn, Shane Finn, Elizabeth Santee, Chloey Santee, Kylee Sakulin, Emily Finn, Shannon Finn, Ryan Finn and Reagan Finn; two great-grandchildren, Clare and Lucy Schultz; sister, Sharon (Dave) Anderson; brother, Larry (Betty, deceased) Finn; and several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Donald Finn and Betty Louise Cooper Finn; and his brother, Terry William Finn.
Don was born in Cedar Rapids on Feb. 19, 1945. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962. He married Jeannette Gail in Cedar Rapids on No. 28, 1964. Don worked at Iowa Electric/Alliant Energy for 43 years, retiring March 30, 2007.
Don was a man of faith, who enjoyed time with his family, fishing, the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeye sports, crossword puzzles, rook with Scott and Judy, and family get-togethers.
