Donald "Dale" White, 73, of Springville, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a brave battle with cancer. Memorial services: 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Bill Warhover. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Yanda-White; sons, James (Lindsey) Miller and Joseph Miller (Stacy Norton); sister, Elizabeth Brandon; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Donald Dale White was born Feb. 16, 1943, in Davis County, Iowa, to Charles and Velva (Mitchell) White. After growing up in southern Iowa, he became a truck driver, most recently driving for Heartland until his retirement. He married Donna Yanda on Nov. 26, 1971, and after divorcing, they remarried on Aug. 30, 2007.
Dale could get along with anybody, and enjoyed watching Westerns, especially anything with John Wayne; collecting eagle memorabilia and spending time with his beloved family.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Brogan Miller; and parents-in-law, Donovan and Anne Yanda.
Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
