DONALD "BUTCH" POVLICK

Donald "Butch" Povlick, 83, of Newhall, Iowa, went to see Jesus on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Butch was born Jan. 20, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Ring) Povlick. He was a lifelong farmer that enjoyed 4H as a youth and taking care of the family farm. Butch never met a meal he didn't like. He had an excellent memory, enjoyed paint by numbers and jigsaw puzzles. Butch will be missed by his friends and family.
Survivors include his siblings, Marilyn Lee of Des Moines, Iowa, Judy Irish of Norway, Iowa, and Larry (Cathy) Povlick of Newhall; as well as nieces and nephews, Pam Lee, Amy (John) Massoline, Kevin Irish, Julie (Steve) Chamberlain, Kim (Jay) Montague, Scott Povlick, Jason (Julie) Povlick and Ryan Povlick.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Ted Lee and Richard Barrett; and niece, Christine Lee.
