Donald Bunting, 76, of Anamosa, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home.

Don Bunting was born September 4, 1949, in Bethesda, MD. He was the son of Helen (Jones) and Merle Bunting. He attended school in Storm Lake, IA and was a 1967 graduate. In 1970, he married Susan Barnes in Marshalltown, IA. After several years of college, he received his final degree at Mt. Mercy University. Don started as a radio tech in Anamosa at Rockwell Collins and retired as an avionics engineer from Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.
Don, a talented gardener, enjoyed all aspects of landscaping. With the help of grants, donations, and his wife, they designed, planted, and landscaped the Anamosa Arboretum which has become a city park. He was a nature and wildlife enthusiast. Don loved to watch the deer in the neighborhood and rescue stray cats. Don and Sue traveled the world extensively during his time at Rockwell Collins. He will be remembered as a multitalented man who helped others freely and loved his family dearly.
Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sue, his children, Kaya (Scott) Primrose, and Nathan Bunting, grandchildren Krystin Peterson, Jessalyn (Akshay) Mutyala, and Alex (fiancé Eva) Primrose, and five great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
All memorials should be sent to Susan's home address.
