Donald Connors and Eli-zabeth Connors, both 89, of Marion, formerly of Van Nuys, Calif., died Saturday, April 19, 2014, and Sunday April 20, 2014, respectively, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include their daughter, Donna (Gerald) Bendixen; two grandchildren, Kurt Bendixen and Lori (Eric) Simonson; and three great-grandchildren, Derek, Blake and Heidi.
Donald was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Troy, N.Y., the son of Michael and Charlotte (Stearns) Connors. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was a quality control manager in the aerospace industry for over 40 years.
Elizabeth was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of Leroy and Catherine (Smith) LeBeau. She was a caring and devoted wife and mother.
Donald and Elizabeth were married Dec. 26, 1942, in Troy, N.Y., while Donald was home on leave from the Navy. They were high school sweethearts who married at 17 and were together for over 71 years. Their desire was always to be together and they are now, forever. They will be greatly missed.
