An open house Celebration of Life honoring Donald Dean Nelson and Carma Loma (Schuman) Nelson will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1–3 PM at the Guttenberg Country Club. A private burial will take place earlier that day.
Don (1937–2025) proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a career truck driver until retirement where he worked for Jeff’s RV. Carma (1944–2020) retired from Collins Radio in 1999. Married in 1964, they shared a love of travel—summers on the Mississippi River, winters at Lake Okeechobee.
They are survived by Don’s cousin Gary, Carma’s sister Marla, nieces, nephews, and dear friends Jeff and Brenda Koppes. Preceded in death by their parents and siblings.
Don will be remembered for his signature bib overalls.
