Donald A. "Donny" Tang, 73, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
Donny was born on July 4, 1950, in Iowa City, the son of Donald C. and Jerry (Logan) Tang. After graduating from Regina High School, Donny
proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marines from 1970 to 1972. He later received his bachelor's degree in accounting from The University of Iowa.
Cherishing his memory are his loving daughter, Merrie Tang; three grandchildren, Mollie Halseth, Milo (Liv) Duncan and Memphis Duncan; siblings, Gene (Rhonda) Tang of Cedar Rapids, Ray (Roxanne) Tang, Catherine (Bill) Poggenpohl, Marty Tang, Russ (Beverly) Tang, Chris (Bill)
Burch and Lori (Alan) Gerard, all of Iowa City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jerry Tang.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 4, 2024, in Iowa City, to honor Donny’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DAV, Disabled American Veterans.
