Don J. Wilson, 84, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Coggon, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Don was born March 21, 1934, in Masonville, Iowa, the son of Ed and Cassie (Green) Wilson. In July of 1955, he was united in marriage to Avis Mangold. She passed away on Jan. 27, 2013. Don was an avid sportsman and enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing. He loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Avis of Central City, Kelly (Todd) Bennett of Cedar Rapids, Lori (Bob) Carpenter of Marion and Karla (Doug) Fuller of Center Point; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean (JoAnne) Wilson of Manchester.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Avis; grandson, Patrick; son-in-law, David Avis; and 11 siblings.
