Don Lee Krotz, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 10, 2021, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A livestream of the service will be available on the Cedar Memorial website under Donald's obituary, under the video tab starting on Wednesday, Dec. 15, starting at 11 a.m.
He served in the U.S. Navy and spent time on USS Shangril-La. He worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 42 years. He was passionate about Iowa Hawkeyes sports and loved to golf and fish with friends and family. He married the love of his life, Kay, on Aug. 9, 1980.
Don is survived by his wife, Kay, and their children, Kim Sokol, Brett Sokol (Ny-Oka), Kim Timpf (Mark), Kristi Williams (Mike) and Douglas Krotz (JoDee). Don and Kay were blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two fur babies, Zingy and Toby.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma; two brothers, Wayne and David; son, Scott; and granddaughter, Alicia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in care of Kay Krotz.
