Dolores Hampson, 98, of Marion, passed away at Willow Gardens Care Center on Monday, March 3, 2014, after a short illness. Services will be held at Lyons Funeral Home in Rensselaer, N.Y. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in
Marion, Iowa.
Dolores was born in Syracuse, N.Y., on March 10, 1915, to Patrick and Clara (Rohlender) Connell. She married Arthur Hampson and lived in Rensselaer most of her life. She also lived in Massachusetts with her daughter and spent the last nine years living with her son, George Hampson in Marion.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine (Frank) Durrick of Plainville, Mass.; three sons, Arthur Jr. of Newark, N.Y., Edward (Linda) of Riverview, Fla., and George (Jean) of Marion; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Ralph; a granddaughter, Teresa Hampson; three sisters; and two brothers.
Dolores' family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff of Willow Gardens Care Center and Hospice of Mercy for the support, love and care they showed Dolores.
