Dolores “Dee” Skalsky, 95, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. No services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Dee was born October 2, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Richter) Antles. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. On September 4, 1948, Dee was united in marriage to Robert Skalsky in Center Point, Iowa. She was a member of the Gazette Auxiliary, Park Forest Garden Club, and a dedicated volunteer at the St. Luke’s flower shop for over 30 years. She was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking and canning. Dee was very artistic. Her talent was on display while hand painting signs for Armstrong’s, Killian’s, and Cramer’s Department Stores. Dee liked to embroider and shared her work with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Chris (Mary)
Skalsky, Steve R. (Liz) Skalsky, Susan Skalsky (Andrew) Wille, and Laura Skalsky (Kyle) Lundberg; grandchildren, Karen Skalsky, Rebecca (Andrew) Ravera, Leslie (Andrew) Smith, and Claire Wille (Caleb Olson); great-grandchildren, Ava Smith, and one on the way; and several nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.
