Dolores E. Ackley, 98, longtime resident of the Tiffin area, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Lantern
Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Gay & Ciha Funeral Service – Oxford Chapel, with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the chapel on Friday.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.

Dolores Elizabeth Fiser was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Ladora, Iowa, the daughter of Isaac E. and Adria A. (Close) Fiser. She graduated from the Marengo High School in 1933. On Nov. 13, 1937, she married Wendell P. Ackley in Hannibal, Mo. The couple lived in the Tiffin area most of their married lives.
For over 30 years she worked in the housekeeping department of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, retiring in 1987.
Her family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Virjean and Keith Cellman of Oxford; four grandchildren, Linda Allen (Greg), Diana Pence (Chuck), Mike Cellman and Denise Odgen (Scott); 10 great-grand-children, Lindsay Pleckler, Mallory Allen, Amanda Wolfe, John Cellman, Chelsay Pence, Hayle Pence, Casey Pense, Chloe Pense, Riley Odgen and Owen Odgen; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Marguerite Ackley of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, a sister, and a great-great-grandson.
