Doling, Gertrude O.

Gertrude O. Doling, 100, a resident of the Woodlands at The Meth-Wick Community, died June 3, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Eternal Love section. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving are her sister, Loretta Koester; nephew, Jim (Joyce) Koester; niece, Linda (Steve) Donnelly; and very dear friend, Kathy Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; son, Steven; and brothers, Carl and Oscar.

Gertrude was born Feb. 12, 1911, in Canistota, S.D., the daughter of Herman and Ricka (Engfer) Mews. She was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Doling on Nov. 13, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1942. She was employed at Armstrong's Department Store for 18 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
