Dolezal, John H. Jr.

John H. Dolezal Jr., 73, of 906 Second St., Fairfax, died Monday, July 23, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital after an unexpected illness. Services at 9 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; two sons, John III and Donnie; a daughter, Julie (Chad) Pence; two brothers, Steve (Joan) and Terry (Joyce); and a sister, Vicki (Mike) Reeve, all of Cedar Rapids.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Marissa and Kierstyn Dolezal, Lauren and Samuel Pape and Dylan Dolezal; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was born on July 18, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Sylvia Egan Dolezal. He married Kathleen S. Donnan on July 29, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. John worked at Rockwell Collins and retired from there after more than 34 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, going to garage sales, cooking and was an avid fisherman. John had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling a good joke. His greatest passion was his family and enjoyed the time spent with them especially his grandchildren.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him,
