Dolezal, Debra Lynn

Debra Lynn Dolezal, 59, of Aurora, Ill., died, Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, following a courageous battle with breast cancer at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Debra is survived by her brother, Dennis (Molly) Dolezal of Cedar Rapids; two nephews, Matthew and Justin, both of Cedar Rapids; and one aunt, Shirley Frana of Calmar.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Debra was born April 28, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Cleon and Doris Dolezal. She received her associate degree in Occupational Therapy from Kirkwood. She worked at the Association for Individual Development from 1979 to 2006.

Debra was very witty and joyful. Her interaction with people and being a faithful Catholic were the most important things to her. She had a great support system in Aurora who cared for her during her illness and was very appreciative for them. Debra had many friends and was dedicated to the population she served while working.

Debra's family would like to thank Sharon, Anita, Yvonne the Vistas Hospice in Illinois and the staff at the Hospice House in Cedar Rapids for the wonderful care they provided Debra.
