Docter, Susan K. Mackert

Susan K. Mackert Docter, 52, formerly of Marion, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, in a Salt Lake City hospital from complications of surgery and diabetes. Per her wishes, there are no services or memorials.
She is survived by her husband, R. “Doc” Docter; a son, Zeth (Liala), and granddaughter, Ayvah, of West Valley City, Utah; a son, Quentin (Kara), and granddaughters, Abigail, Lauren, Reina and Alina, of Minneapolis; a daughter, Olivia (Chad) Northey, grandson, Clayton, and granddaughter, Claire, of Waterloo; her father, Eldon (Gerre) Mackert of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Doug (Judy) Mackert of Marion; three sisters, Jane (Rye) Clark of Quasqueton, Linda (Ed) Mercado of Cedar Rapids and Ann (Jon) Bell of Cedar Rapids; four nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Mackert.
She fought the diabetes battle for more than 40 years. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
