Dixie Ann Harland, 66, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. Visitation: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Duke; children, Rick (Tresha) Boone of Henderson, Colo., and Tracey (Frank) Michalec
of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Isabella Rosenbohm and Zach and Cody Boone; and siblings, Rick (Paula) Jedlicka of Lisbon and Jodi (Gene) McLean of San Jose, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Curt Jedlicka; and niece, Molly Jedlicka.
Dixie was born July 19, 1949, the daughter of Richard and Doris (Pence) Jedlicka. She graduated from Alburnett High School in 1968 and then served with the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1973. Dixie married Donovan "Duke" Harland on Oct. 25, 1992,
at the Elks Lodge in Cedar Rapids. She worked for the city of Cedar Rapids, retiring in 2014.
Dixie enjoyed swinging on the porch swing in her gazebo, watching the birds, reading, baking, going to the casinos and eating out. Her greatest love was spending time with family. Dixie had a sweet smile and contagious giggle that will be remembered by all. She also was a generous person and gave to many charities.
