Dirks, Duane Henry
Duane Henry Dirks, 57, of Morley, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, in his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. The Rev. Jonathon Kosec will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Internment will be at the Wayne Zion Cemetery, rural Monticello.

Surviving are three sisters Dianne (David) Simmons of Worthington, Janice (Keith) McCloy of DeSoto, Mo., and Lori Hill of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Raymond Dirks of Monticello, and Leonard Dirks of Morley; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Virginia.
Duane Henry Dirks was born Feb. 16, 1953, in Anamosa, Iowa. He was the son of Elmer and Elvina Stutt Dirks. Duane started working for area farmers at an early age and had spent the last 25 years working at Stickle salvage feed/food waste solutions. Duane enjoyed gambling wherever he got a chance, fishing during his younger years and helping others. Duane was someone you could count on no matter what the circumstance and he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wayne Zion Cemetery.
