Dillan Thomas Sackett, 23, of Paris, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017, in a motorcycle accident. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 14, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Dillan was born Nov. 12, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of David Timothy "Tim" and Teresa (Williams) Sackett. He was a 2012 graduate of Central City High School. Dillan worked at the Linn Co-op Oil Co. as a farm tire service worker. He grew up enjoying boating and camping. He also enjoyed mud racing with his sister, his mud truck "Allis," and riding his motorcycle. Dillan loved spending time with his dog, "Jack," family and friends. He truly loved life and was ever so kind to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived and lovingly remembered by his parents, Tim and Teresa Sackett of Central City; sister, Katie Sackett of Central City; his dog, "Jack," of Paris; paternal grandfather, David Truman Sackett, and wife, Helen, of Anamosa; maternal grandfather, Jerry Williams of Marion; aunts, Dianna (Mark) Hackman of Central City, Dena (Jerry) Moyer of Walker and Jill Kreitman of Cedar Rapids; uncles, Daryl (Amanda) Sackett of Marion and Jim (Mickie) Williams of Coggon; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins; and a host of many friends.
Dillan was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Delva Sackett; and maternal grandmother, Lynda Williams.
