Dietz, Susan B.
Susan B. Dietz, 70, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 27, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Virgil Dietz of Cedar Rapids; son, Jerry (Christene) Dietz of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Debra (William) Warner of Chicago; a sister, Joan (Mike) Lehner of Cedar Rapids; three nieces, Carrie Lehner, Emily Gritton and Meredith Galloro; one nephew, Mick Lehner; and many loving friends.
Susan B. Dietz was born Aug. 31, 1941, the daughter of Gaylord and Claire (Bader) Edwards. On Dec. 29, 1961, she was united in marriage to Virgil Dietz in Riverside, Calif. Susan had a passion for drag racing that was shared by her husband and their children. Her all time favorite race car drivers were also her greatest achievements in life - those being her two children, Jerry and Debra. She participated in the Susan G Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk in California, and enjoyed working out at the Rockwell Rec Center.
Susan will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her warmth and kindness to others and her positive attitude.
