Dianne Marilyn Wells, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014,
in her home due to complications from pancreatic cancer. The family will greet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Noelridge Christian Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Stew Royce. Memorial service: 6 p.m. Thursday, following the visitation at the church. The family invites friends to join them in fellowship following the memorial service at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; four daughters, Nicole Tharp-Woods, Lisa (John) Tharp-Strawn, Katrina (Jason) Lowder and Miranda (Nate) Stahr; sister, Millie (Robert) Pierce; brother, Michael Downing; 12 grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and first husband, David Tharp.
Dianne was born Dec. 27, 1953, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Harold and Ruth Downing. She worked at Rockwell Collins for 26 years. Dianne loved mushroom hunting, making slide shows, playing board games and fishing. She had an artistic hand and enjoyed photography. Dianne was a very selfless, thoughtful, and loving person who cared very much for her family and friends.
