There will be a celebration of Til's life from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Prairie Hill Pavilion Banquet Hall, located at 5680 Kacena Ave., Marion. A private family committal service will take place at a later date at the Lutheran Cemetery, Luzerne, Iowa.
Diane was born on Aug. 17, 1954, the daughter of Hilbert and Mary (Schlotterback) Lorenz in Belle Plaine, Iowa. Til had a strong faith in God and was happy and positive. She had a desire to live her life independently. Til had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for making people laugh. She was very close to her Hiawatha Care Center family. Til and her loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her mother, Mary Lorenz, of Minneapolis, Minn.; sister, Julie Allinson and her husband, Paul Erickson, of Minneapolis; brother, Allen Lorenz and his wife, Susan, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two nephews, Chad Lorenz and his wife, Jamie, and Seth Lorenz, all of Council Bluffs; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and many extended family members including aunts and cousins.
Til was preceded in death by her father.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that in memory of Til, please hold a door or give a kind word to someone outside of your circle of family and friends. If you feel the need to give in Til's memory, please contribute to the Ronald McDonald's House or a favorite charity of your choice.
Cards of condolences may be sent to Til's mother, Mary Lorenz, 3701 Bryant Ave. S., #818, Minneapolis, MN 55405.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff and residents of Hiawatha Care Center for their friendship, kindness and care they gave to Til during her life.
