Diana Wiebold of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023. She was 74 years old on the day of her passing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, Iowa, with the Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time, Thursday, Aug. 24, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A private family inurnment will follow the memorial service. Memorials may be contributed to the family.
Diana was born on July 22, 1949, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of David and Eulah Goldammer. She attended Prairie High school and then earned an associate of applied science degree in nursing from Kirkwood Community College in 1992. In May 1967, she married Roger Wiebold at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Homestead. In 1976 they moved to Walford, Iowa, where they made their home and raised their daughters.
Diana wore many hats, as she worked as a waitress, several times as a secretary (retiring from Custom Cabinets & Millwork in Marion), postal service employee, a nurse and as a caregiver to her ailing parents.
Diana is survived by her two daughters, Jessica (Mark) Heiser of Chesterfield, Va., and Loralie Wiebold (Greg) of Middleton, Wis.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Richard (Cindy) Goldammer of Homestead, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger, in 2022; and her sister, Carol Gates.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids for their patience and kind care of Diana (and Roger) over the past 4-5 years; to the staff at Rose Haven Nursing Home and Marengo Memorial Hospital for the care and support in Diana’s final weeks of life.
