Dhondt, Rickey Lee

Rickey Lee Dhondt was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Marvin James and Nedra (Claypool) Dhondt. He attended Williamsburg High School. Rick served in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, Nascar and collecting coins and fishing reels. Rick died on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System, St. Cloud, Minn., at the age of 64 years.

He is survived by four children, Matthew Dhondt of North English, Jill Kuster of Hedrick, Jennifer (Ryan Jennings) Dhondt of Gibson and Adam (Ann Lyons) Dhondt of Williamsburg; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Nedra Dhondt of Parnell; a brother, Jerry (Rita) Dhondt of Williamsburg; a sister, Samra Ollendick of North Liberty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his father, Marvin; and a brother-in-law, Joe Ollendick.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at noon Saturday, March 23, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. With military rites by the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until services Saturday. Burial will be at a later date.

A general memorial fund has been established.
