Dhan Maya Basnet, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022. Services: 11 a.m., Friday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Dhan was born on Feb. 1, 1936, in Dagana, Bhutan. She was widowed after the death of her husband Bhakta Bahadur Basnet in 1995. Since then, she has been living with the family of her brother-in-law, Mon Basnet; her sister-in-law, Na Basnet; and her sister, Sabitra Bsnet. She has one brother who lives in the state of Tennessee.
Dhan had been a good housewife back in her country of Bhutan. She led a quiet life, but happy to engage in family activity. She was an inspiration to her family, always polite and loved watching cultural TV shows.
