Dettmann, Wayne F.
Memorial services for Wayne F. Dettmann, 72, of Davenport, who died Nov. 20, 2013, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Inurnment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.
Wayne Frederick Dettmann was born June 1, 1941, in Clarence, Iowa, the son of John and Norma (Stange) Dettmann. He earned his associate degree from AIC and then worked at Lujack Schierbrock. Wayne also served in the National Guard. On June 6, 1964, he married Sharon L. Meyers in Davenport. Together they spent 49½ wonderful years together and raised two beautiful children.
Wayne worked as a business manager at Kimberly Car City until September 2013. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport.
Wayne will be fondly remembered for his love of family and strong work ethic. He loved James Bond, food, traveling and collecting Allis Chalmers merchandise.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dettmann of Davenport; a daughter, Dorie Dettmann of Davenport; a son, Lee (Michele) Dettmann of Tucson, Ariz.; a grandson, Alex Dettmann of Tucson; and two sisters, Mary Kay Dettmann of Coralville and Marcia (Phillip) Killien of Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
