Derwood "Ivy" Iverson, 76, of Robins, died Friday, June 6, 2014. A visitation will be Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Howard Chapman from First Presbyterian Church in Marion will officiate.
Survivors include two daughters, Valerie Ann Turner of Cedar Falls and Donna Andrea Iverson of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Alden Turner of New York City, N.Y., and Carson Turner of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Wilma of Emmetsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irma; and son, Frederick Iverson.
Derwood was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Cylinder, Iowa, the son of Darwin and Lillie (Rambath) Iverson. He married Irma Ann Boone on Feb. 3, 1959, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Derwood retired as an engineer from Rockwell Collins. He served in the Army during peacetime.
Derwood enjoyed woodworking and tinkering around the house and yard in his spare time.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Marion in memory of Derwood.
