Denny, Rachel Hope Morton
Rachel Hope Morton Denny, 26, of Coggon, formerly of Marengo, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Central City. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion, with the Rev. Gregory Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kloster Funeral Home in Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established for the medical care of her daughter, Izabella.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Christopher Denny of Walker; her children, Isiah and Izabella; her father Douglas Morton (Nancy) of Brooking, S.D.; two sisters, Rebecca Klinge (Bradley) of Columbus, Ind. and Melinda Flick (Seth) of Riverside, Calif.; two brothers, Jeffrey Steelman (Ida) of Belton, Mo. and Aaron Morton of Ames; her paternal grandparents, Donald and Ruth Morton of Cedar Rapids; and maternal grandmother, Reva Winkle of St. James, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Morton in 2011; and her grandfather, Roy Hance.
Rachel Hope Morton was born Aug. 21, 1986, in Columbia, Mo., the daughter of Douglas and Pamela Hance Morton. She attended the Iowa Valley schools in Marengo and graduated from the Kirkwood High School program in 2004. Rachel was employed with Channel Fusion, Hiawatha, Iowa.
