Denny, Billy L.
Billy L. Denny, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Brad Brown. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joan; his children, Mary (Norvin) Coblentz of Wellman, Iowa, and Susan Denny and Ellen (Matt) Lantz, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Michael, Elias, Dorian, Josiah, Eva (Travis), Jonas, Ethan, and Lindsey (Nick); two sisters, Sally McCombs of Delta, Iowa, and Marilyn Denny of Oskaloosa; and two nephews, Randy and Danny.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Mike.
Bill was born March 24, 1938, the son of Clair and Mildred (Feaster) Denny, in Keokuk County, rural Delta, Iowa. He served with the United States Air Force from 1960 through 1964. On Feb. 5, 1965, Bill was united in marriage to Joan Brager in Hayesville, Iowa. He worked for Nelson Manufacturing for 35 years, retiring in 2010. Bill was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
