Dennis James Petz, 61, of Davenport, formerly of Williamsburg, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Windmill Manor in Coralville. In accordance with his wishes, private family services were held.
Memorials in Denny's name can be made to the Dennis Petz Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home at 2720 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City, IA 52240.

Denny was born June 29, 1952, in Marengo, Iowa, son of Edward and Audrey (Smith) Petz. Throughout school he was a talented athlete, breaking several high school basketball records at Williamsburg. He attended Upper Iowa University and worked for 14 years at Wensco Sign Supplies, retiring in 2013.
Denny was an avid golfer, a fan of the Chicago Bears, and always loyal to the Black and Gold!
He will be remembered by many as a man with an infectious sense of humor, always quick to make people laugh.
His family includes his children, Nicholas Petz of
Davenport, Brittany Petz of Bettendorf and Matthew Petz of Long Grove; siblings, Duane Petz (Barb) of Iowa City, Annette Smith (Nick) of Frisco, Texas, Connie Richards (Bob) of Iowa City, Rick Petz of Williamsburg, Joe Petz of Williamsburg, Angie Cochran (Craig) of West Branch and David Petz of Williamsburg; granddaughters, Haley and Aliyah Petz; and many nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James and Lyle Petz.
