Dennis Lee Miller, 79, formerly of Robins, passed away Wednesday at Riverbend Retirement Community in Cascade, surrounded by his loved ones. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday September 3rd, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his three daughters. Kimberly Elliott of Palo Cedro, California, Robin Wenseritt of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, and Miranda Bries of Epworth; a brother Terry (Nancy) Miller of Lime Springs. He is also survived by seven grandchildren John, Christopher, Miriah, Elia, Maicee, Michael and Maddox and one great grandchild Aaliyah. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Denny was born on November 29, 1944, in Waterloo, Son of Carl and Virginia (Hinkel) Miller. He married the love of his life, Nancy Lee Miller on December 26, 1964, in Preston, Minnesota. Denny graduated from Cresco High School and soon after he joined the Navy. He served our country as a Jet Engine Mechanic from 1963 to 1967. He then spent most of his career driving semi-trucks, mastering the art of transportation. Later transitioning to a part-time position with the City of Robins, bringing his same dedication to his local community.
Denny cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and daughters, finding his greatest joy in their laughter and companionship. As an avid car enthusiast, he had a remarkable talent for restoring classic cars and could fix just about anything that came his way. His garage was his sanctuary, a place where he spent countless hours tinkering on various projects. Denny also had an extraordinary ability to connect with anyone he encountered. Whether speaking with a close friend or a stranger, he was always able to engage in meaningful conversation, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will forever be remembered as being generous, resilient, and someone who always looked out for his loved ones. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
