Dennis McGuire, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital Hospice. No services are planned at this time. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Dennis and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four grandparents and brother, Jim McLaud.
Dennis was born Monday, July 21, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Ivan and Mary (McGown) McGuire. He honorably served in the United States Army.
Dennis was kind, had a sense of humor and was tender hearted. He enjoyed spending time with family, going with his mom to play bingo and going to Meskwaki, doing crosswords, and cheering on the Dodgers, Rams and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Dennis leaves a long lasting legacy of warmth and caring that will stay in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew him.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for all the wonderful care they received from the nurses and physicians involved at UnityPoint Hospice care during this difficult time. Also a special thanks to the team at Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Cedar Rapids who provided compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be given to St. Luke's Hospice care and/or Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Cedar Rapids.
